For
those of us who have Netflix, there are many reasons why we love it.
It’s a goldmine of movies and television shows— what’s not to love? As
I’m such a lover of cosy evenings in the den, remote in my hand, blankets swathed around, a hot chocolate beside me…
Ahem. So, I’ve decided to share with you some of my favourite things to
watch on Netflix. Here (in no particular order) they are!
1. Reign
I’d
heard of this program before, but hadn’t gotten around to watch it, but
now I have, I am ever so glad. It stars some of my favourite actors
since I was a lot younger, and in watching the show, I’ve seen even more
talent. I’ve been a big fan of Caitlin Stasey since The Sleepover Club
days, and loved her so much in Tomorrow When the War Began, that it’s
great to watch some more of her acting again. Adelaide Kane's acting is
amazing, and she makes a fantastic lead. I really love the historic ties that this show has, and the costumes are just brilliant!

2. Orange is the New Black
Wow,
this show is incredible! I was recommended it by several friends, and
decided to give it a go— and I’m damn pleased I did. It’s now one of my
favourite ever shows, I love it so much that I overtook where my friends
were at in the series. I really did binge watch it. So fast. (I also
accidentally gave away quite a few spoilers to my pals— sorry guys!). I
absolutely adore some of the characters, and have to give some a
mention. Since they were first introduced, I’ve loved Tricia, Poussey,
Nicky, Chang, and Blanca. Honestly, this show knows how to construct
brilliant, flawed, and totally awesome characters. Perfectly peppered
with serious moments and humour, OITNB is an absolute dream.

3. Pretty Little Liars
This
show is popular, and for good reason. It sounds like it would be a hard
feat to keep millions of fans guessing for seven seasons straight, but
Pretty Little Liars does it so naturally. Not only is the plot
constantly throwing curveballs, but the acting talent on screen is
amazing. The cast has such chemistry, and I’m honestly heartbroken about
this being the last season to grace our screens.

4. Prison Break
This
show is amazing. It constantly comes up with new challenges for our
heroes, and they take them on bravely. They don’t always succeed, and
Prison Break highlights the consequences of breaking the law, and also
brings up themes of ‘how far would you go to save someone you love?’
It’s plots like these that really show us how it’s done.

5. Ru Paul’s Drag Race
I
LOVE this show. I began watching it after hearing about it from a
director, and I honestly love it. These people are so incredibly
talented and creative— it’s amazing to see what ideas and looks they
come up with, and create themselves. The challenges on the show are
great too, and so entertaining!
6. The Big Bang Theory

6. The Big Bang Theory
I
began watching this show years ago, and it’s definitely my favourite of
its kind. The characters are so lovable/ you love to not love them, and
it’s so amazing to see their development across the series. My
favourite character is definitely Penny, I absolutely adore her sense of
humour, and her relationship with Sheldon is gold!
7. Scream

7. Scream
As I’ve mentioned before,
I love the original Scream franchise. So, when I saw that Netflix had
made a series inspired by the original slasher, I had to give it a
watch! I thoroughly enjoyed it. Meeting new characters is always fun,
and I had a great time watching the references and parallels to the
original 90s film.
I’ve
been a Vampire Diaries fan for a long time, and love re-watching
episodes. I’m upset that season 8 is going to be the last, but I know
it’ll end well. The cast is so talented, and although I miss the
character of (SPOILER ALERT!) Elena, the show is still one of my
favourites.
